$21,430 distributed to Enderby & District Financial communities

In 2013, Enderby & District Financial established an endowment with the First West Foundation to generate ongoing community funding in Enderby and the surrounding region.

Grants from this fund are made to community-based programming addressing one of the following areas:

  • Youth based programming

  • Community services for at-risk populations

  • Seniors support services

Students can enroll in this course with topics that include growing and harvesting your own food, food preservation, healthy meals and nutrition, and finally lessons on shopping and buying food both globally and locally.

Cook it! Try it! Like it!

Program teaches children how to prepare simple healthy snacks/meals and promotes an awareness of food safety, where food comes from, and how to make healthy choices. Will run in partnership with the local school district.

Family Support Program

Hiring of a social worker to provide direct support to families in our community, offering intense parenting support, referrals, crisis intervention, short-term counseling and life skills.  The intent is to provide support to families experiencing crisis or distress at no cost.
